Among Steve's professional accomplishments are the rebranding of ValuJet Airlines as AirTran Airways following a fatal accident in the Florida Everglades, and increasing awareness of Dutch-based ABN AMRO Bank through management visibility programs and its listing on the New York Stock Exchange. Steve's investor relations and public relations work for AirTran is featured in marketing expert Tom Duncan's book IMC and the Al and Laura Ries book, The Rise of PR. He has handled numerous public offerings for companies such as Boulevard Bancorp, Coleman Cable, MYR Group, and Chicago Title & Trust Co., as well as many fast-moving crisis assignments.
Steve has held leadership positions at several major international communications firms, including Hill and Knowlton, Burson-Marsteller and MS&L Group. A frequent lecturer and author, recently Steve wrote "Enhancing Value for Undervalued Companies" in The Journal of the Association for Corporate Growth and "Mind the Gap! Where Corporate Policy and Social Media Meet" for Compliance and Ethics Professional.
Steve is currently a director and former two-time president and chairman of the National Investor Relations Institute â€“ Chicago Chapter. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from John Marshall Law School, and a bachelor's degree in English from North Park University, where he serves on the advisory board. He is certified in compliance by the Society for Corporate Compliance and Ethics.
